This is Friday—another week has drawn to a close. Tomorrow is a missionary conference. Should be good. A lot of things have happened this week and I had to force myself to find the time to write this.
After our district had fasted last Sunday, I had the spirit—and especially as I prepared a talk which I gave Tuesday morning in Zone Meeting. It was on testimony—giving and getting one. I forgot the first page of the talk I’d written or at least forgot half of it and I spoke mostly with the power of the Spirit. I really felt close to the Lord then but I blew it today. Right at the end of retention when we started telling dirty jokes—that really blew it!! It’s taken me until today to get close to the Lord again. I promised myself that I’d never tell a vulgar or dirty joke again—I also made a promise or at least try my best to follow all the laws and commandments of God so that I will be worth to receive his help and blessings.
Barbara got married on schedule, Tuesday, April 8, 8a.m., SLC Temple. the whole family was there—Julie, Frank, Mom and Dad. I guess I was there in spirit cause I wanted to be there in body but after talking to the Mission President Wilkens, I knew that I had to follow the mission rules which forbade meeting with one’s family—

but I received a special delivery letter which had letters from Grandma Hatch and everyone that went to the wedding.
In leadership meeting Wednesday at 11a.m. the BYU basketball coach Glenn Tuckett, gave a very interesting and inspiring talk. He talked on love and other things. Love the one thing I lost for so long and now am desperately seeking but I’ll find it before this mission is over—the one thing I pray for to learn to love the work and desire to serve our Lord and Savior. Amen.
