a rather unique lock system for raising and lowering barges. Kind of like a big bath tub on rails. The barge navigates in—the bath tub takes off down the track a half mile to the lower canal.
This week we went out to Jean-Pierre’s “challet”, for him a real retreat. But quite small by anyone’s measurements. I finally found someone to mend my summer suits although he does it very reluctantly. He turned out to be an atheist. Tomorrow is the Grand Prix de Belgique at Francochamps, near Liège—too bad.
We ran into a pair of T. J. ladies and had a real bang up discussion this week. They said to come back and talk some more. I’ve been pouring over my brochures ever since. Also in second tracting log in Baulers we ran into the priest and will check back on him to talk with also. Says he’s got all sorts of Bibles. Should be interesting. We rode our bikes out to Seneffe Thursday to tract out there. About the 15th door we found a member lady. Been baptized 8 years in Marsielle, France. Married an atheist and is now inactive. There is a huge mansion not far away from her place. Someone must have been moving in or out but we found no one there. Old suit of armor laying against the side—Pearson wanted it so bad. President Brown’s cards are always a real stimulus and help. This one means I’ll be in Novellas for another month.
