I force myself to write a few words to explain the events of the last few weeks. Last weekend the 7th of février, we went to Charleroi for the Branch President’s meeting which turned out to be very good but it was sleeping on the floor. Then Sunday was a typical discouraging Sunday School with Bernadette (the only active member) and Brother Donnadieus (one of the guys who lived in the meeting house but was never there during meetings) Monday or Tuesday night I taught a 2nd lesson with Elder Malan to a real fine young family—Capaert—they had a real fine spirit and already a testimony of the truth of the restored gospel. The missionary work has been very good lately. We have been teaching a lot of families but nothing real serious yet.
Last Saturday night we went down to the “salle” (meeting house) to teach Brother Donnadieu. It turned out that he isn’t there but the other brethren (missionaries)were and were in the middle of cleaning the place up for the meeting Sunday. We held it in the main “salle” (room) which was harder to heat. The reason for the change was the expected appearance of the Caparet Family. They came — although a little late — Bernadette gave a real fine talk on the Book of Mormon and Sister Lhermenier taught a real fine lesson. We were real happy.
