mission as the converted son of Begium’s top T. J. (Jehovah Witness) missionary. He had just been set apart as Branch President this Sunday before. The grand total in attendance at Sunday School was J.Pierre and the Elders—harkens back to Amiens and Sacrament meetings. Well, I had a bad attitude. Trouble adapting to a new companion. Didn’t like the way they had been working their investigators. Clashes around. We didn’t get along. I was in a slump from Amiens. We had a hard time living together. Made a few adjustments and changes and compromises before conference. Got things out in the open. They (Elder Lewis went home and Faulston) had been teaching their investigators more as friends than as investigators. Faulston talked more than I did. Cut me off a few times and just didn’t handle things the way I wanted them to be handled. Of course, I felt like a junior being lead around in a new city and introduced to new and strange people.
The situation was improving when we went down to Charleroi Sunday last for Conference for members. Br. Thomas (star investigator) was supposed to go but he didn’t. We’d seen him the night before at ‘Bambi” (movie in French).
