I transferred to Mauberge today.  It took two hours to go to Lille. I just barely caught the train to Mauberge but there was no heat and I about froze. Met some French girl that spoke English so we talked together.  She was a typical Catholic. Didn’t want to know a thing. The apartment set up here is very nice. It’s new.  A sort of youth hostel (they fed us 3 meals a day). Trunky because it’s just like living at college in a dorm.  There are girls on the 1st floor.  It’s mixed on the 2nd. Third and fourth floors are all boys. It’s interesting being among so many young Europeans.

I received the traditional French express letter (two days to get to Dunkerque.). I wasn’t expecting it at all and didn’t want to leave.

New Year’s Eve found us around the Marquise table. Gave Sister Marquise the traditional French kiss but had to pass  up on her daughters. Annie was a little frosted.  Elder Malan and I are gong to trunk it out together. There are four Elders in this city. Two too many if you ask me. Also Fullmer says that there are no apartment buildings that can be tracted.  I about died of  frost bite going down to the train station to get my  bike.  Branch looked pretty “Feisty”, too.
