Well, I had a rough time slugging it out this last week or so. I’ve really had to turn to the Lord and draw strength from the scriptures. The weather was just magnetic yesterday as we parted from the fast and testimony meeting, reminding me of a bright spring day in 1820. We’re working with the Martene family, trying to make it over the Word of Wisdom. The Frère is dragging his feet bad. He hasn’t read yet in the Book of Mormon but he’s really cut down on his cigarettes. Soeur Tonghe just about had a cow when we announced that she would have to pay a 10% tithing on her welfare check of something like $100 a month. She understands the mission of Christ’s Plan of Salvation but she is going to really kick at tithing. “Oh ye of little faith”. This applies to me just as much as her. I’ve been reading about Nephi having to chastise his brothers and then his dad when he broke his bow. Brother, what a great man! What faith he had!! It’s a good goal.
