We’ve really been working harder in Jemeppe this first week. Tiens! I’ve just discovered that a mission is really a formidable amount of work. It takes so, so much will power, guts and complete dependance on the Lord to help and sustain you. Tracting is really a monster when you stare it in the face in the morning, each morning. But usually it’s quite fun if you work at it and find people that will talk to you. And at least let you have a small chance to present them the truth. My companion is Elder DeCoursey from Nampa, Idaho. He is a good companion. He helps and guides me a lot. I’m working on finishing the second discussion today. I hope I can finish it off. It’s awfully hard to find time to study effectively. I’m usually so tired that I fall asleep doing it.
Today at two o’clock we’re teaching Frère Colen, a first and second composite. We found him the first time I went tracting, Sunday a week ago. I gave a door approach and to my surprise he really wanted to know more. He had a Book of Mormon and was really prepared to hear the gospel but his wife’s a Communist, I think, Bad News. The Seraing branch is building a new chapel. We just had our first meeting in a temporary rez-de-chausee (meeting) salle (room on the street…first floor for us).
