Dear Diary.

The District is here chewing the fat and discussing which picture we’re going to use for post cards rather than Christmas cards.  I finally discovered that it rains in Northern France.  We just about got wiped out in the rain tracting.  We got 45-1/2 T&T  (teaching and tracting) but about died doing it. Elder Webb isn’t a hard worker and after 2-1/2 years, no baptisms in all that time, it’s pretty hard to keep knocking our heads in on doors where we’re not getting into one house to declare our message.

Today is Tuesday, Armistice Day here in France. Yesterday we did some shopping but proselyted at the same time— at least we tried. We talked to a young man for about 2 hours. He spoke English very well. We went into a café and talked a lot about the church but he didn’t take a Book of Mormon.  He left to return to Lille.

We’ve got this big old box radio with a gigantic antenna and we’re getting English stations all over Europe. It’s really funny to listen to the English expressions and accent. I’m trying to get a camera and Elder Webb is trying to sell his to me. Yesterday when we went around shopping I got $10.00 worth of assorted commemorative French stamps. They should hold me over until I leave France. At least for awhile. I also bought a straight razor and strop. Should prove interesting.
