Today we were set apart for our missions. Elders Bigler, Shumard and I were set apart by Elder Theodore M. Burton. It was a wonderful experience. I’m sure that Elder Burton was influenced by the spirit of the Holy Ghost when he gave me my blessing. He invited me in and I sat down as he asked me about my mission call and my parents names etc. Then he told me that my calling was directly from our Lord Jesus Christ. I agreed with him. Then he layed his hands upon my head and said words in effect—you are set apart from the world—to live above the world so that the spirit can guide and direct—as a fully ordained minister called by the Lord Jesus Christ—given the full powers to preach and told to and called to testify to the world that Christ is the Savior. Blessed that any fears and hesitancies that I had would be goneand I would be able to teach the Gospel in its power—Above all, to live so that the Holy Ghost can guide me in all things.”
We leave at 4:15 for Provo and the Language Training Mission (L.T.M.) After being set apart we saw a movie, “Bullitt”, and came back to the Mission Home.
